AntiBug System

What was AntiBug System in marxio-tools applications ?

AntiBug system was a some sort of warning for those users who were using older versions of my applications. Example ? Suppose a some version was released day X and after 60 days this version stopped working and user was given a message that "he has to download newerv version to use this program after 2 months". If used did not accept to download a newer one, his copy was blocked and there was no possibility to use it any more, unless he download newer one from www.marxio-tools.net webiste.

This system guaranteed that EVERY user used the newest version released. For example, there was no user who used Marxio Timer application version 1.1 (released Feb 2009) in June 2009. because it was more that two months. He had to download newer one, always the latest release.

It was a great idea - no user used old version, sometimes buggy, incompatibile with latest Windows updates, service packs or in lates Windows version, like now, when Windows 7 is going to be released.

But...thousands of users suggested me to disable this system because when they forgot to update it, suddenly they were unable to use it anymore if they did not have an access to the internet.

Now, when those thousands of users use for example Marxio FCV in a production environment for calculating database files checksums they....could not do this. Moreover, if it was a server room, without internet access, they found this application to be useless.

This is why I disabled in previous versions, and finally removed a piece of code responsible for informing and blocking applications through AntiBug System. Future versions and new applications will not have such restriction. Only a warning will be displayed to the user, but using applicaions will be still possible. Moreover, user will be allowed to disable those warning messages if he decides he does not need it anymore and remembers to visit marxio-tools website to download newer versions from time to time :)

I hope you will find this change very useful. Instead of AntiBug System, you may now use (optionally) an autoupdate function that connects to marxio-tools.net website to check if newer version of your application is available for download. If not, that's ok - use it until newer is published and if finally newer is found, then download it or not, but remember that newer versions always eliminate bugs reported by users and add something new to my applications like new functions, settings etc etc etc...

Enjoy using my applications :)
