Idea for maintaining this project

After few...we started to consider setting some price for our tools. No, the tools will still be free for use, even for commercials, but as our project needs are not small and we plan to buy new developer software, new components, new graphics for our tools, we thought it would be wise to set some price for downloading all tools. It could be even 50 cents per download, but once we gathered a larger sum, and once we bought what we wanted, we could still offer all tools for free. But this time...we could offer all users more than before. Database and client-server applications, better look in all tools and more features which we cannot include right now as our free developer software has too much limitations and we cannot make huge improvements without breaking license agreeement.

What we need now is Your opinion about such action. Yes, we might loose some users first, but after some time, we could come back with doubled....power....? I mean offer new tools and improve already published ones.

Donation rate was zero withing last year so it looks that nobody wants our tools, but if there were 4000 users, willing to pay $.50 for download then within short time we could return to free download model.

New tool under design

Together with lucky78, b.graham, tomylee, we started a new tool develo

pment. Well, design at first, but such steps are very close to each other. It's some kind od host monitor tool as lucky78 send some idea for such tool to let it be used at work. Version 1.0 will have limited logging functionality, but as more suggestions come to our user email boxes, the more settings will be added over time.
To test 0.0.1 version use email link in newsletter sent on Monday. Link is not available for all of you as 1000 points are needed to let it be seen and tested. 2000 to let be seen source code.
More information soon.

Other good information - seventeen users crossed 1000 points limit last week so they were granted access to unofficial applications download area.

Note,
Some of our members requested opening Marxio FCV 1.7.x branch to be freely available for public. Simple vote - yes or no. Poll will last till 29.08 and after that, decision will be made. Note that Marxio FCV 2.0.x is still closed for public. Only for old members with more than 3000 points on their account. The reason is that it was primarily developed in language most of you do no know :)



New version released - Marxio Timer 1.13.1

Screenshot action modified. Now it's possible to take screenshot of currently active window or whole desktop.

Next improvements are to be implemented according to the plan released earlier. No delays :)



Marxio Timer - screenshot action updated

I've received dozen of request to change "Screenshot" action behaviour. Usually we need to take screenshot of whole desktop, but this consumes much space on disk and sometimes is useless of we just want to monitor current application we work with.
New version of MT will be capable of taking screenshots of whole desktop or currently active application (window).

Just a small application has been created as a reminder and "guard" of our PC's. It takes screenshots of our desktop. Customizable a little, some settings to be added in new version.

New tool under development - "what has changed"

Maybe name for this tool is not smart, but also not final one. The aim of this tool is to monitor resources on disks - local of remote (network).
If you are working with corporate network shares with thousands of documents and need to track them and detect if something was added or uploaded, meaning something new has just shown up. Easy interface, Explorer context menu integrationn, over 12 conditions for searching and sorting. Predefines and user created filters for files and folders. Excluding and including files settings.



Marxio FCV listed on Fedora project website

Marxio File Checksum Verifier has been listed as one of suggested tools to verify Fedora ISO/DVD images in Windows graphic environment.
Nice to know someone makes use of it too :)

New awards for Marxio Timer (4) and Login Logger (1)

I was just informed that Marxio Timer received another 3 new 5/5 awards and one editor's pick award.
Login Logger also received one 4,5/5 award from major download site. I just checked download counter and it exceeded 100 within first week since published on that website. Too shame it's not so popular so far as it's really very rare application for login logging.
Which one is it ? I will shortly include it on my website :)



Marxio Timer post 1.13 - request for comments

If you use version 1.13 with fully customizable "Display text" window then I'm waiting for your comments about this new functionality.

Besided, version 1.13 includes support for more sound file types and improved already implemented sound algorithm that will say goodbye to strange delay when playing longer sound tracks (mp3 files).
I'm going to improve scheduler settings in further version, but I'd like to finish topic first.
Btw,
I'm glad that fix included in 1.13 solved problem with displaying windows and focus problem (slow window moving, improved CPU sage etc)



New version released - Marxio Window Maximizer 1.6
24th July 2010

Marxio Window Maximizer can now maximize/normalize any window, terminate application without asking for confirmation (WIN+Q) and can act as a temporary clipboard with predefined text - all text are now stored in file 1.txt, 2.txt, 3.txt and 4.txt. Just press WIN+1 and paste it to clipboard.
The aim of this function is easier work with console programs, like putty. Delay can be set when entering username and then waiting few seconds for password prompt.
As of that last setting, I already started new tool development that would be similar to AutoIT application but very, very easy to use :)



Marxio Timer fix

I found the cause of Marxio Timer not being able to start - displaying error messages like: Encode date[time] error.

The cause is date conversion problem - instead of integer value returned by one function, a value of real-type was returned. Just like x:= floor(value) instead of x:= [some real-type value] returned.
This problem was finally fixed in version 1.13.

Some users reported that they receive error message with encoding date text while starting Marxio Timer. I already started investigating where it might come from and whether it is related to Marxio Timer or some other subsystem. Before that, I will put some older version on website once I get to my archive.

New version available - Marxio FCV 1.6.8

FCV received 3 new keyboard shortcuts and more informative status bar texts. I also added some preview of Marxio FCV that let you see how FCV evolved since version 1.0 beta. See it here.



New version available - Marxio Window Maximizer 1.2
24th January 2010

MWM now supports maximizing any program window (or message box) and restoring its state to normal. You can now toggle between those two states. All using only one keyboard shortcut.



Bug fixing

I have removed memory leak bug from Marxio FCV and Login Logger application. Main process could sometimes grow up to 50 MB size. Some fixes were also made in Login Logger - strange but after recent Windows updates, this application throwed some "access violation" errors when run immediatelly after Windows startup. It could happen, for example, in Active Directory startup scripts or when LL was run from Windows Startup folder via link to this executable. Great thanks to gambir for helping in fixing that strange error (netapi32.dll related).



New version available - Marxio Login Logger 1.6
1st December 2009

Major update. Several actions logged were improved and two new were added. Now you can monitor when user: logged out, shut down or rebooted his PC or when did he close application manually. If you use MLL, this might be a great improvement for you :)



Inaccurate timer in Marxio Timer
25th November 2009

Marxio Timer will have a new timer function that will be more accurate than current one. Some users reported that timer can sometimes go slower than real time, so there might be a little slick - for example 1 minute per hour.
New timer will be available in the next release of Marxio Timer 1.12.3 or 1.13, along with another 20-30 new improvements - maily for "Display text" action and few major fixes for Vista and Seven.

I saw some users comments claiming that my tools are paid software when in fact, they are free of any charges. The ones who say that - show me the proof - some bill or invoice ?
Donations are only one of the four ways to get the latest releases that will eventually - over time - be available to public.
What I only wish my users to do is to support this project also in other ways - through bug reports, ideas, reviews, comments.
To abolish the myth about paid software, I just made the latest Marxio Timer 1.12.2 version available for all, without any obligations, so Downloads section is awaiting your visit :)

Some users reported that they cannot download my software from other websites. I haven't got much time recently, but if you find some broken link, let me know so I can restore or fix it.

Minor but annoying focus bugs fixed.
This is another the newest release of Marxio FCV that was released to public as I declared some time ago to do so. As of today, both contributors and all other users can use the same version of FCV.
Moreover, because my application is started to be recommended by users on many big websites and forums like fedoraproject.org or techrepublic.com.com I decided to restore a direct link to this application. You can recommend it to anyone just putting a direct link to FCV like this one.

Two bugs fixed causing Marxio Timer to not start when running from command line or by desktop icon. Also, one bug fixed that caused to calculate network traffic improperly - not always and not on every computer, but I suggest you to update to the newest version if you use this action.

New application available - Marxio Window Maximizer

Writen in few hours, but often needed tool to maximize any window (program, terminal console) using keyboard instead of mouse that is very rare in some places, like server room. No need to point to that "maximize window" button. Just press WIN+W button and that's it ! Window is maximized. No mouse needed.
